Dinner on the Farm with Chef Grant Gillon featuring Calvin of The Good Butcher

  • Grade A Gardens 34802 I Avenue Earlham, IA, 50072 United States (map)

Join us on the farm for dinner with Chef Grant Gillon. We love hosting Chef Grant as he always does an amazing job creating inventive and delicious dinners for our guests. This year we thought we would take this dinner to the next level by incorporating an interactive and educational experience by hosting butcher Calvin Schnucker, founder and head butcher of The Good Butcher in Des Moines. Guests will not only get to enjoy a plated meal but they will also learn about the art of butchery. Tickets available June 26th!

Chef Grant Gillon is an Iowa-based private chef and passionate advocate for local agriculture. Known for his bold flavors and refined technique, Grant rose to national recognition as the winner of MasterChef Season 13, showcasing his ability to blend creativity with heartland ingredients.

At the core of his cooking is a deep commitment to farm-to-table sourcing. Grant partners closely with Iowa farmers, dairies, and producers to build menus that celebrate the season and tell the story of the land. Each dish reflects his belief that great food starts with great relationships — from pasture to plate.

Calvin Schnucker is the founder and head butcher of The Good Butcher in Des Moines, Iowa. With nearly 20 years in the meat industry, he specializes in whole-animal butchery, house-made sausages, and traditional dry-cured charcuterie. Calvin is passionate about sourcing high-quality meats from local farms and bringing old-world butcher craftsmanship back to the neighborhood shop.
